Hallo,

ich setze auf einem Windows 2008R2 Server Backup Exec 2012 mit einem HP Autoloader 1x8 G2 ein.

Nun hab ich die 8 Bänder gewechselt, neu eingelesen und diese dem Mediensatz verknüft, in dem die Bänder benutzt werden sollen.

Die Bänder werden auch alle dort angezeigt, doch der Speicherstatus wird als 'Nicht geeignet' angezeigt.

In den Eigenschaften der Medien wird ein Hinweis angezeigt: Medien mit dem Überschreibschutz 'keine' können überschrieben werden.Der Überschreibschutz ist derzeit auf 'keine' eingestellt. Klicken sie auf Backup Exec > Konfiguration und Einstellungen > Speicher die Überschreibschutzstufe zu ändern.

Hat jemand eine Tip, wie ich Backup Exec sagen kann, das die Bänder benutzt werden sollen/können ?

I have Backup Exec 2014 running on Windows Server 2008.  I cannot seems to get Backup Exec 2014 to recognize my Microsoft Exchange 2013 SP1 CU5 databases on any Exchange Server (both running Windows Server 2012 R2).  They are also configured as a DAG.

The Service Account being used is a member of the Exchange Trusted Subsystem, Domain Admin, Backup Operator, as well as a local administrator on each server.

What else can be going wrong?

Hi Team ,

 

We procured VNB Capacity based license & recieved single license key for it.

I have 3 servers  ( 1 Master + Media ) and 2 DB servers.

I want to take DB server backup over SAN.

 

As per my limited understanidng , i have to share Tape drives with 2 DB servers & install them as SAN media Server.

I believe during installation of SAN media server , it will ask for License key.

 

But how to install SAN Media license as i didnt get any another license key ?

SHould i use same capacity based license key for installation of Medai server. It would be complaint with licensing ?

Hi Team

Using BE2012 on Win 2008 Svr.

I want to create a Full/Diff backup regime to some folders spread over the C: and D: drive of my server.

I want the entire contents of the 3 folders on C: to be in the selection list.  From the two folders on D: I want to exclude .TIF, .JPG, .DFI and .XML from the selection list.

So I tick the folders off D: that I want, go to the Selection details, highlight one of the folders I just ticked, Modify, select Exclude and put in *.TIF; *.JPG; *.DFI; *.XML When I click OK the entire folder from D: disappears from the Selection details screen.  

I don't want to make the exclusions a global default as there may be files of those types in the folders on C: .

All suggestions gratefully recieved.

Manual restore of single server 2008R2 DC.  DC is also the Media Server.   Followed the Administrative guide and when I get to the system state restore I get an error.  Here is the log showing the error, it is similar to the restore 2008 DC that is in 2003 native mode but this is the first and only DC and was created with 2008 R2.

I am running backup exec 2012 (version 14) Build 1798

Dear Friends ,

I was using below mentioned bar code .

Now i have new bar code as per below  only intialy two digit is diffrent then old barcode , now when i tried to perform inventry the error occred

Inventry Failed media id not unique in database (34)

0012L5 (barcode DR0012L5)
0011L5 (barcode DR0011L5)
0010L5 (barcode DR0010L5)
0001L5 (barcode DR0001L5)

  Is ther any SLP report available on either Netbackup or Opscenter which should display backup id, client, policyname, schedule, tape etc.

Checked in the Opscenter but cant find.

Hey guys, so our company set up a new file server on Server 2012, I believe with iSCSi Shares.  When I added these 2 new servers to BE, it only picks up the C:\ drive and System State. Is there something I need to do so it will see all the shared drive letters?

Hi all.

When we backup our SQL servers we manage to lose data

Having read an article earlier today that states the "VM is stunned for the duration that the memory is being written" when a snapshot is created.

I would like to know if there is a setting for backing up the memory content of a virtual machine using backup exec that can be turned off?

We have a daily report that checks services if they are running and set to auto. Since updating to BE 2014 we have BackupExecAgentAccelerator service reporting as stopped. Does the service only run when backups are taking place and thus we can exclude it from our report or is this a problem that needs investigating?

y una ultima consulta basica, el campo "Quantity", en el caso de "Agent for Applications and Databases", esto se refiere a poder respaldar 10 aplicaciones o bases de datos, aun estando en equipos diferentes (windows y linux)? .... y como se relaciona esto con el "Agent for Windows"

I downloaded netbackup 7.6 at Symantec Marketing Campaign site https://www4.symantec.com/Vrt/offer?a_id=91443. When I try to do the installation, it prompt me for a product key, which I dont have. Where can I get the product key? Thanks in advanced.

Last night, an incremental backup job of two VMware VMs with AVVI to deduplication storage and linked duplication to tape, which has been running fine for several weeks, reported an error during the tape duplication stage for one of the VMs:

Virtueller Computer MAMMUT
V-79-57344-38277 - Öffnen eines Datenträgers des virtuellen Computers nicht möglich.
 - WARNUNG: "VMVCB::\\10.4.4.130\VCGuestVm\(DC)zagdatactr01(DC)\vm\MAMMUT\MAMMUT\MAMMUT-000002.vmdk" ist beschädigt. Dateiprüfung nicht möglich.

Literal translation:
"Opening of a volume of the virtual computer not possible.
 - Warning: "VMVCB::\\10.4.4.130\VCGuestVm\(DC)zagdatactr01(DC)\vm\MAMMUT\MAMMUT\MAMMUT-000002.vmdk" is damaged. File check not possible."

The strange thing is that this error did not appear during the backup to deduplication disk stage where data is actually copied from the VM, but only during the duplication to tape stage which to my untrained eye appears like a purely internal action of the media server for which no access to the VM should be necessary.

Where should I begin to look for possible causes of that error?

I need a solution

Hello,

My 2 DELL PowerEdge 4600 servers that were running 2000 Advanced Server just crashed and i'm wondering what version of Backup Exec can I install on two other servers that are now running 2003 and 2008 server?  I need to get the information from the backup tapes that were made so i'm in desperate need of suggestions. 

My plan is to copy the data via a scsi adapter and attach the tape drive to the server running Server 2008 so that I can get the information.

Any suggestion will be greatly appreciated.

BE 2014 running on Windows Server 2008 R2

Upgraded to BE 2014 from 2012 SP4, installed licenses (Agent for Applications and Databases, Agent for VMware & Hyper-V), pushed (updated) Agent for Windows to all servers.

All servers but BE server are VMware virtual machines (vSphere 5)

Domain Controller = Windows Server 2008 R2

Exchange 2013 Server = Windows Server 2012 R2

Since upgrade to BE 2014 GRT backup of Domain Controller virtual machines results in the following error:

V-79-57344-38730 - Backup Exec was unable to authenticate with virtual machine '\(DC)Ben Franklin TV(DC)\vm\Protected virtual machines\bfnep-dc1' and was unable to collect the necessary metadata to restore individual application items. You cannot perform GRT-enabled restores of application data from this backup. You must edit the credentials for the host computer's backup job and then select the proper credentials for the virtual machine.

Backup of Exchange server virtual machine results in the following error:

V-79-57344-38727 - Backup Exec was unable to collect the necessary metadata for virtual machine '\(DC)Ben Franklin TV(DC)\vm\Protected virtual machines\xchange13' to restore individual application items. You cannot perform GRT-enabled restores of application data from this backup.

The credentials are the same as before the upgrade.

Anyone expericencing this issue?

Hi all,

We are using backup exec 2012 on a win server 2008 R2 server. Its a pretty basic setup. One server with an SDLT 320 tape drive connected. In the last week or so our backup has failed at the verify portion. I can see the tape is read, the backup runs and completes but the verify fails with the error below (screenshot).

The followjng KB entry doesnt give much of a solution

I also noticed the following windows event
Event ID 7026- The following boot-start or system-start driver(s) failed to load: dlttape-VRTS

 Is it possible this is related to the tape drive suddenly using the windows drivers for the tape drive versus the symantec drivers?

Hi there,

I'm new to Backup Exec solution.  I have two questions.  

1) Do Backup Exec 2014 have to be installed onto a standalone server?

2) Can Backup Exec 2014 be installed onto a NAS running Storage Server 2012?
