Hi I just started looking after a server that had Backup Exec 2010 installed on.
THe company had a bunch of tapes that had been used before with Backup Exec 2010 on a different server. I inventoried all the tapes and Catalogued the media.
Under the media set it says "Overwrite Protection Until" => Overwriteable. Appendable=>Not appendable.
I've inventoried the tapes, set a policy (I think) so that the tape can over write the previous tape after 1hr (it was orriginally set for 1 week)
When I plop the tape in the drive Backup Exec does NOT show the tape as being online. I have to go into devices, Right click the drive and say inventory before the tape actually shows up.
It's hard to see but the tape looks blue and has a Red circle and a line through it. That or a number "2".
When the tape is showing up "online" the automated backup job will "begin" when it is told but won't actually start the process of backup up to the tape.
Any help would be greatly apprecaited :)
