Hello,
We are slowly moving our Backups over to BE 2014.
While i already tested the Oracle backup, i still have a problem with the archive logs.
Oracle says to only delete the "Archived redo Logs" after they have been backed up successfully at least three times.
I think i saw a technote that said two times.
Now it seems to me that non of the options available, concerning the Oracle Archived Logs, are useful.
Please tell me if i'm wrong about the options:
"Do not back up archived logfiles that have already been backed up" -- After a Log has been backed up once, it is ignored by all farther backups.
"Delete backed up archived log files" -- Log get's deleted after it has been backed up once
I'm hoping that the "Delete backed up archived log files" option uses the Oracle practice of "delete after three successfull backups" but i fear that we will have to use rman scripts again to have everything go as we want.
Regards,
