Sharepoint backups using SP or SQL agents?

Hi,

We configured NBU SharePoint agents to backup Sharepoint DBs but the transactional log is not running. Will the SharePoint agent full backup truncate the sharepoint DBs in SQL 2008r2/sp 2010/2013 environment?

Suppose we use NBU SQL agents to backup sharepoint will there be potential problems during backups/restores?
