Backup Exec 15 backup-to-disk on windows 2012 deduplicated volume

Im trying to use a windows 2012 depuplicated volume for backup-to-disk destination,  backup exec 2015 will give me a warning that the recovery might not be possible.  the point is to save space for my backup destination.   I do not have the symantec dedup option.  Why is the windows 2012 deduplication not possible for backup destination, looks like the only reason is to sell the dedup option from symantec...
