How do I verify a media?

Hi,

Is there a way to verify if it's possible to write on a media to see if it's damaged?

I bought 20 new media, did the Inventory and put the tapes in Scratch Media and i got this error during the backup:

drive_error">Storage device "IBM LTO4 Tape Drive" reported an error on a request to write data to media. Error reported: 0x17

I would like to verify the media one by one if possible.
