Hi I am in a very interesting situation. My company is expanding and needs to install Backup Exec 2010 R3 into multiple locations around the world. I need to find out how to ether copy the configuration to be imported into different servers or create an unattended installation and configuration file?
The Setup
- One Backup Exec 2010 Server in each location
- One Exchange 2010 server
- One SharePoint server
- One SQL server
- One File and print server
e.g.
London
- LNDCS001 = AD Server
- LNEXC001 = Exchange Server
- LNSHP001 = SharePoint server
- LNFAP001 = File and Print
- LNBAC001 = Backup Exec 2010 server
New York
- NYDCS001 = AD Server
- NYEXC001 = Exchange Server
- NYSHP001 = SharePoint server
- NYFAP001 = File and Print
- NYBAC001 = Backup Exch 2010 server
Dubai
- DUDCS001 = AD Server
- DUEXC001 = Exchange Server
- DUSHP001 = SharePoint server
- DUFAP001 = File and Print
- DUBAC001 = Backup Exch 2010 server
As you can see the servers are all named differently but the configuration is the same e.g. all file and print server have the same file names and in the same location so the backup jobs use the same settings.
So is there an unattended installation and configuration option in which we can change the server names to match the site?
Can we export the configuration from one site change the server naming and import into another?
