Some questions re Hyper-V backups...

I need a solution

NetBackup v7.6.0.4 MSDP (via N5230 v2.6.0.4) - Windows 2012 R2 Hyper-V host cluster using CSV - guest VMs are all Win 2012 R2, Win 2012, or Win 2008 R2.

I've read this:
http://www.symantec.com/connect/forums/backing-hyp...

...and this:
http://www.symantec.com/connect/forums/can-we-take...

...and my questions are:
1) When a Hyper-V guest VM backup occurs at the Hyper-V host layer, and VSS is engaged at the Hyper-V host layer - does this also utilise VSS within the guest O/S layer?
2) I assume an I/O flush occurs at the time the snapshot is created, but where is the flush initiated from; the Hyper-V host hypervisor, or from within the guest VM O/S itself?
3) Is it true that cummulative incremental backups of Hyper-V guest VMs is not supported, and only differential incremental are supported/possible?
4) When a differential incremental runs, does it use only archive bit, or only modified date, or do we have a choice?
5) What is really going on when a differential runs... I mean, I understand that the vhd(x) snapshot file is somehow 'processed' by the NetBackup Client at the Hyper-V host layer... but is this traversing the embedded file systems, or using some other form of advanced processing (NTFS bitmap, or NTFS change journal perhaps (if present))?
6) If a differential includes Shadow_Copy_Components, then roughly how does one accomplish a full + differntial restore including the system state? Just like a physical server? If so, then this seems to me to require a NetBackup Client to be installed within the guest VM? Or am I missing something obvious (or not)?

Thanks very much (in advance as usual).
