Hello All,
We are having 2010 R3 SP4(HF 212812) installed in our Windows 2008 R2 Standard media server. No database is residing on the server and the server is physical one.Server connection is 100mbs full on both server and switch port end.The server is backing up remote servers also. The problem is with the media server only when it starts backing up itself.
The problem started while for Labling tape we wanted to take backup of a 9MB file. The jobs is taking very long time to process the snapshot before backing up that file. For ~3 hours it keeps on pre-processing/snapshot processing/queued state before it backs up the file(~10seconds).The 'backup' of the file takes normal time at a normal speed once snapshot processing is complets. This happenes for all kind of backup wheather its full or differential.
We do not use AOFO so the option we keep as disabled in Backup Exec.
Another problem is whenever we click on any job properties it gets into hung state for ~1 hour. After that the job property opens up.
We have uninstalled and re-installed the Backup Exec/power cycled the tape drive/pause-unpaused the tape drive.Nothing helped.
From the server perspective all the VSS writers shows at stable state however the ASR writers keeps on failed(timed out) once the backup gets completed. We have rebooted the server many times and after that the writers became stable, however after the backup got started the same situation arrived. Also there are no event logs present related to VSS.
Provided the SGMon and SYMhelp lgs to symantec support, however till now havent got any positive feedback from them.
Would be helpfull if someone has faced similar kind of issues and share their thoughts on this.
