I will be upgrading our current master server (7.5.0.6) running on W2k3 to new hardware with Win sever 2008. I am aware of the migration procedure using catalog backup and recovery http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=TECH77447
The netbackup is installed on the D: drive which is SAN disk. Being a large environment our Full catalog backup takes around 8-9 hrs.
We have quiet busy backup environment so using the catalog restore will take longer downtime to migrate to the new server.
Is it possible to use the cloned san disk (d: drive) from the old server and present it to the new Netbackup server. Trying to figure out what would be the best route to use this cloned disk.
After that can I install the netbackup on the exiting installation (same path) on D: drive to finish migration without doing the restore from catalog.
Or Just do the clean install (same path) and copy the everyting under the \veritas folder from existing disk to new disk.
